My Hair Care Routine
I was never a person that took care of my hair simply because I didn’t have time or because I didn’t care. But upon starting the Spring semester I made it my goal to make time to take care of my hair. By taking care of our hair we are not only ensuring that we look our best but also that we feel our best by ensuring we have healthy scalp and hair. As soon as I started caring for my hair I noticed that my hair looked shinier and my hair and scalp no longer felt dry. Here are some of the products I have been using to achieve a condition that leaves my hair looking and feeling its best:
Ouai Wave Spray
I actually remember first coming across this product on the set of a TV show I was going to be an audience member for. The hairstylist was going around adding some final touches to our hair and upon the first spritz, the beautiful fragrance caught my attention. Besides smelling nice, I also noticed how it helped tame my baby flyaways. The hairstylist told me how it was a must-have in her kit as it bonds hair without leaving it visibly sticky or crusty. It is made using rice protein to help create the look of effortless and natural waves. My favorite way to use this product is by spraying this all over my hair and then proceeding to braid it and leave it overnight. I notice that when I take out the braids in the morning my hair has formed nice soft waves with a slight bounce. Another pro is that the product is recyclable, with the exception of the pump. This has definitely become one of my holy grail products!
Monday Haircare Shampoo and Conditioner
What brought my attention to this set was that the bottles were very aesthetically minimal and pink! I think the price is great for all the benefits I received from using them. Besides being affordable they are also vegan, cruelty-free, and free from parabens and SLS. I have a lot of coarse hair and I would box dye it like every other month so my hair was damaged and dry, but this set helped fix my hair dilemmas. The lineup of this set offers a variety of different formulations for different hair types. The different formulations are available in Gentle, Moisture, Smooth, and Volume. As soon as I started using the Moisture set I noticed how my hair no longer felt like dry hay but nourished and soft. It contains coconut oil to help add hydration and shine and rice protein that helps strengthen and keep. I’ve also started receiving compliments on how smooth and silky my hair looks, meaning that there is a noticeable difference!
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask
What drew me to buy this product in the first place was the super cute packaging! How could I resist the cute bear bottle! The Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep conditioning mask is already one of Briogeo’s best sellers but it doesn’t originally contain honey. I use this product sparsely as the honey version of this mask is a limited edition product that only shows up about once a year. If I had known I was going to love it so much I should’ve just stocked up. Even with the few times I’ve used it I’ve noticed a drastic difference in the condition of my hair. It helped restore moisture back into my dry damaged hair, leaving it feeling silkier and making it easier to brush through. I am not particularly a fan of its scent, but I don’t mind because it leaves my hair feeling amazingly soft. Honey is known to be a natural humectant so that’s why it’s effective at pulling in moisture. I will definitely be stocking up on more of these bottles if Briogeo releases them again next year!
