I became acquainted with The Ordinary in my sophomore year of college, and let me tell you, I’ve been hooked on this high-quality, inexpensive, highly effective skincare brand ever since! There is a huge variety of products to explore with them, but after nearly three years of use, I have found three tried-and-true favorites that have NOT ONCE left my beauty routine. I’m talking about re-purchasing these baddies five or so times EACH!
1.The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil
This light-weight oil is incredible. I have extremely dry, extremely sensitive, acne-prone skin that often times makes me want to pull my hair out. That said, this oil is a personal savior. I tend to get chemical burns and painful dry patches on my skin, but this product — applied morning and night — is extremely soothing and really helps to seal in the moisture. But I also find that it reduces the sensitivity I experience with my skin and helps to lessen acne flare ups while hydrating my skin.
2.The Ordinary Hylauronic Acid 2% + B5
Hyaluronic acid has come onto the beauty scene with a bang in the last five or so years. Now, it a go-to moisturizing agent that helps the skin retain moisture. I adore this serum! It’s very affordable at $6.80 per bottle, and it dramatically improves the moisture-level of my skin. It is now a staple in my daily routine, especially in the winter when I am most prone to dryness.
3.The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalene
Squalene is an incredible moisturizing agent that can now be sourced from various plants (rather than unethically from deep-water sharks). I have started to really rely on this oil in the mornings because it absorbs so quickly, sits well under my makeup, and generally plumps up and hydrates my skin for the day. It is a really high-quality oil and is my favorite of all the squalene oils I’ve tried thus far.
If you’re not yet familiar with The Ordinary, I highly recommend giving it a try because the amazing prices are unbeatable and the products straight-up slap.
Love from quarantine,
